Get the ball in the hole in as few strokes as you can.
Aim & power
Drag back from the ball to aim and set power, then release to hit — the ball fires the opposite way, like a slingshot.
The power % is a share of the club's yardage. 50% power on a 140 yd club carries about 70 yd. Full clubs are quoted as carry; the chip and putt as total distance on a flat green. Wind, slope, the lie and your trajectory all move it from there.
Look around
Drag anywhere else (not on the ball) to swing the camera round and check the line. Pinch, or scroll with a mouse, to zoom in and out. The map in the corner shows the whole hole, your ball and the pin.
Read every shot
Before you swing, size up four things. Together they decide where to aim and how much club to take:
- Distance: the readout shows yards to the pin — start with the club whose number matches.
- Wind: check the flag and the readout; the stronger it blows, the more it moves the ball.
- Your lie: fairway, rough, or sand (see the Lies tab). It changes how much power and spin you get.
- Elevation: how far the pin sits above or below you. Uphill plays longer, downhill shorter.
Shape it: draw & fade
Add draw (curves left) or fade (curves right) to bend the ball around trouble or hold a sloped green. Use the shape controls or A/D.
Flight: higher & lower
Hit it higher to fly over trouble and land soft, or lower to bore under the wind and run out. Trajectory controls or W/S.
Where the ball sits changes everything. Read the lie before you swing.
Fairway & tee
A clean lie: full power and full spin. Where you want to be.
Rough
Thick grass grabs the club: about 18% less power and much less spin, a "flier" that runs out and won't hold the green. The Chip punches through rough better than the wedges.
Bunker (sand)
The toughest lie, around 30% less power. Take a lofted wedge, or hit it higher, to clear the lip.
Green
The putting surface. Switch to the Putt, read the slope, and roll it in.
Trees & rocks
Scenery only: trees, rocks and cacti never touch the ball — it flies straight through them. Only the ground and the water play your shot.
Water & out of bounds
The ball's gone, and both play as stroke & distance: a penalty stroke and you replay from where you hit. There are no safe drops, so don't over-swing at a shot flirting with trouble.
